Aspen Hill Exxon has been serving the local community since 1980. Proudly owned and operated by the Yavetz family, Benny started in 1980 after moving to the DC area from Israel in 1976. Anyone that knows Benny admires him for his integrity and honesty. He has a true "mechanic mentality" putting the customer and vehicle first. He has passed this philosophy and wisdom to his son, Dan, who is the current owner and leader of the team.
DAN
Dan Yavetz grew up in the auto shop. Born in 1983, the shop and work team over the years was a constant in his life from the beginning. Dan got his start as a teenager, pumping full service gas after school and changing oil and tires. After completing school Dan started working full time and in 2005 joined the Aspen Hill Exxon team as a technician. Many years and certifications later, Dan became partners with Benny and took on management of the business, while still working occasionally in the bays as a Maryland State Inspector. Benny retired in 2019, and legacy was officially put in place. Aspen Hill Exxon now is a multi generational family owned. Dan is known for his magnetic personality, a good sense of humor, his love for his wife and daughter, rock and roll, and is usually asked for as "the guy the with the long hair and tattoos."
JORDAN
Jordan Wolf started at Aspen Hill Exxon in 2015 as a technician. Jordan got his training serving has country in the 82nd airborne as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He served 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After active duty, he started in private sector as a fleet technician for medium and heavy duty in 2010. In 2015 he received his honorable discharge and became an automotive technician in 2015. Jordan got his chance at management with owner transition in 2019, and now is the proud service manager of the shop. Known as the big guy with the tough exterior, Jordan has a heart of gold, and will do anything in his power to help the customers and the team.
KYLE
Kyle Dalgleish started in 2009 as a cashier for the gas business at Aspen Hill Exxon. Kyle grew up in the Silver Spring area with his older siblings and their friends (one of them being Dan.) He is a true renaissance man of the business, working in the shop for a certain time, and now knows how the shop runs, how the gas business runs, as well as working to upgrade the operation systems and bringing new technology to the old school shop. Kyle is now the office manager and is an important asset to the team and what you see when you walk in the door at Aspen Hill Exxon.
LUIS
Luis has been in the automotive industry over 20 years. He has worked at independent and multiple dealers before landing at the Aspen Hill Exxon family in 2021. Luis is a Maryland State Inspector, and what we like to call "the wizard." He has earned this name for his exceptional diagnostic skills. Luis has supreme knowledge of electrical systems and is the one who can find the problem that nobody else can find. He stays calm, treats everyone with respect and will not give up. He is the industry professional this shop needs. Family man, gym nut, automotive wizard.
Daniel "DOOSIE"
Doosie is THE MAN. Raised around the Aspen Hill area. He started working at Aspen Hill Exxon in 2017, when he was still in high school! Learning the trade from school, and from in house training from Dan and Jordan, Doosie has evolved into an absolute beast. Engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, diagnostics...the list goes on. Thru his positive attitude, and self motivation, there is nothing this guy won't take on and figure out. Now with some years of experience behind him, Doosie has gotten into custom work and modification (we call it OEM+). Customer exhaust, modified suspension, performance tuning, and even car audio systems are all doable in house with us. Doosie makes work a fun place to be.
Kellen "KJ"
The youngest member of our team, KJ got his start with us by hanging out at the shop! His passion for cars got in our good graces, and when we had the opening for a technician helper, KJ was the one we wanted, and the one we got! He graduated high school and began full time with us in 2023. KJ is the next generation, and while cars are getting more modern and advanced, he is learning from the old school basics; the makings of a great tech. He is in training now at Montgomery college, and works full time in the bays. Preventative maintenance, tires, brake repairs he is already proficient, and is constantly the second set of hands we need, learning under Luis and Doosie in the shop. The future is bright for this young man, and his personality makes him the funniest brightest mind in our workday.
Rafael "RAFFY"
If you have ever been to Aspen Hill Exxon, you know Raffy. Raffy is the rock. He works the front counter for the gas station and customer check out for the shop. But he also is the one who keeps our place clean, keeps the store freshly stocked, and will run out to help you check your oil. He has been working with us over 10 years. It's impossible not to love Raffy. Everyone needs a Raffy.
PENNY
The mascot, the greeter, the shop dog. Customers love her, the delivery drivers love her, the team loves her, YOU LOVE HER. ADMIT IT!! Dan met Penny at an adoption event at local brewery Elder Pine. Penny needed help, had a tough first year of life, and was looking for someone stinky and funny enough to give her a second chance. Sometimes the stars align, it took 3 days for Dan and family to officially bring Penny in as one of the pack. With lots of love and lots of yogurt and sweet potato, it didn't take long for Penny to get in good health and become the best dog she was meant to be. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PET, PLEASE LOOK INTO ADOPTION FIRST <3
